Richard (Dick) Getty

Board Member

Since 1978, Mr. Getty has been a self employed real estate investor.  He buys and builds commercial office and retail real estate for own portfolio.  The properties are held in a family owned LLC.  During this time he has invested close to a billion dollars in over a million square feet of commercial buildings and land development.

Prior to this he worked for Weyerhaeuser Company in their Research & Development Group.   He has a Masters Degree from the University of Washington in Wood Science/Pulp & Paper Technology.  Prior to that he attended the Institute of Paper Chemistry and earned a  Bachelor of Applied Science (BA in Sc) in Chemistry from Western Washington University.

Dr. William McKean

Board Member

Emeritus Professor of Paper Science and of Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington. Dr. McKean is an Engineering Consultant on conversion of biomass to bio-fibers as well as biomass derived chemical products and bio-energy. Along with his 35 year association with the University of Washington, Dr. McKean was a Senior Research Engineer and Manager for the Weyerhaeuser Company.

Elizabeth Martin

Board Member

Elizabeth (Lisa) Martin of Bainbridge Island has joined the Board of Directors of Columbia Pulp.  Ms. Martin is a 13 year resident of Bainbridge having moved here from Chicago.  She is the President of Rolling Bay Land Company.  She, along with her family started the Martin-Fabert Foundation to focus grant-making on environmental issues and global health.

Ms. Martin states that she “is keenly interested in preserving forests, supporting the development of “tree-free” products and investing in environmentally positive, job-creating businesses.  Columbia Pulp, LLC combines all those interests.”

Mark Lewis

Technical Director/Board Member

Former University of Washington Paper Science and Engineering Department Manager, Programs Operations. Lewis’ Master thesis was on the effects of load cycling in tension on Young’s Modulus. Prior to coming to the University, Mr. Lewis worked for a number of paper industry companies including Penford Products, Noram/Western Testing Equipment, GK Carbonate and Weyerhaeuser Company.

Loren Monroe

Accounting/Business Systems

Mr. Monroe, who is a Certified Management Accountant, has 37 years of Pulp and Paper Industry experience with both Crown Zellerbach and Port Townsend Paper.  His role has included operations laborer, converting superintendent, project management for Information Systems, as well as various rolls in the accounting and finance areas. Loren’s career spans over 20 years as the controller and Vice President of financial services at Port Townsend Paper.  As sole owner of Adelma Beach Business Consulting, he offers accounting and project management to Pulp and Paper Companies as well as project developers.

Eveleen Muehlethaler

Permitting

Ms. Muehlethaler, who holds a Masters Degree from the Institute of Paper Science, brings 35 years of experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry. She has worked for Crown Zellerbach and Port Townsend Paper. Her roles included Assistant Mill Manager, Technical Director and Vice President, Environmental Affairs.

Larry Tantalo

Project Manager/Engineer

Mr. Tantalo has over 40 years of experience developing and managing projects in the Pulp and Paper Industry and other fields. He has extensive experience in the design, start-up, commissioning, and operation of Pulp and Paper Systems as well as in chemical and petrochemical, utility systems including power generation and water distribution systems. Most recently, Mr. Tantalo has been a project manager for Parker Messana & Associates in Federal Way, Washington; earlier experience includes Andritz and Weyerhaeuser.

KC Kuykendall

Product Development

KC Kuykendall is a seasoned business professional, active in community and economic development initiatives in southeast Washington. He lives in Waitsburg and has spent the last twenty-plus years in technology development and deployment, infrastructure engineering, strategic planning, master planning, economic development, and Energy systems engineering across the U.S. and internationally.

KC is an Oregon State University grad. in Mechanical Engineering, and completed his graduate work at University of Colorado in Environmental Policy and Law. He serves on several corporate Boards, is an elected member of Waitsburg’s City Council, currently serves a Governor appointment to the Public Works Board, and on the Board of Directors for the Association of Washington Cities (District – 2).

Rhonda Barker

Dayton Office Manager

Ms. Barker was born and raised in the Dayton area, graduating from Dayton High School in 1979. She graduated from Washington State University with a BS degree in Agriculture and a miner in Ag. Economics. Rhonda and her husband Pat live and farm outside of Dayton, raising dryland wheat, peas and barley. They also have a ranch by Starbuck in the Lyons Ferry area where they raise cattle and have irrigated crops. To keep things interesting they also have a construction company for dirt moving and road building

Marc Griffin

IT Manager

Mr. Griffin has over 22 years’ experience in IT and Project Management across a variety of industries. His roles have ranged from Help Desk and Systems Engineer to Assistant Vice President of Network Engineering at a large public company. Marc is responsible for managing overall Information Technology operations and leading Columbia Pulp’s technology strategy.

Marc currently lives in Pasco, WA with his wife and son.

Andrew Albrecht

Pacific Civil & Infrastructure, Inc. (PCI) specializes in complex heavy-civil, infrastructure, and industrial construction projects throughout the Northwest United States and Pacific Islands. PCI is supported by its key personnel offering a combined 100+ years of experience in projects ranging from power and industrial plant construction, water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations to earthwork, underground utilities, tunneling, site remediation and heavy-highway projects

Andy Albrecht, PCI’s President & CEO, is a Central Washington University graduate, holding a degree in Bachelor of Science, Business Administration & Finance. Mr. Albrecht offers over 30 years of hands-on construction experience gained by starting in the crafts and quickly moving up through a well-known, highly successful, regional construction organization to senior executive positions, ultimately holding the position of President of RCI Construction Group (later Parsons/RCI) managing annual construction revenues in excess of $400 million.

Mr. Albrecht has experience in all aspects of operating a construction firm ranging from business development, project selection, and estimating to contract negotiations, project execution, and financial reporting.  His experience in management with both a regional, family-owned atmosphere (RCI) and, after the acquisition by a large E&C company (Parsons), as a senior executive of a company with annual revenues in excess of $3 billion, provides him with an expansive knowledge base.

PCI has hand-selected its key personnel for the Columbia Pulp project from a pool of individuals with proven track records for success, many with whom Mr. Albrecht has worked over the years. The Team assembled for this project brings experience, resourcefulness and knowledge which will result in a successful project completion.
